Abstract:
The objective of the present study is to formulate and evaluate gastro retentive mucoadhesive granules of Amoxicillin trihydrate against H. pylori treatment, by employing spray drying in fluidized bed processor and wet granulation techniques. Formulation is aimed at developing mucoadhesive granules, filled in capsules, that give a sustained release of the embedded Antibiotic drug Amoxicillin for a period of 3 hrs, with 30-40% drug release in the initial time point (15 min) and a 100% drug release at the end of 3hrs. The optimized batch with above mentioned parameters is compared of its dissolution profile with the pure API and marketed capsule and to study the effect of two polymers (controlled release) on the percentage drug release.
